Our group will depart from Boston’s Logan Airport on Thursday night, October 29th, and return to Boston on November 5th. All accommodations, meals, seminars, supplies, and sight-seeing is fully covered by the trip.
Join eight undergraduates for six unforgettable days in Poland. Under the guidance of From the Depths and Jonny Daniels, our carefully selected group will learn about the country’s Jewish past, both it's glories and traumatic destruction during the Holocaust. Each day, our group will visit sites and learn about the experiences of both Jews and non-Jews during the way, including the heroic efforts of Polish resisters who helped hide Jews. For a few hours each day, we will roll up our sleeves to – for instance – excavate lost Jewish matzevas, or tombstones, used by the Nazis to line the Vistula River; help restore an abandoned synagogue and hold services there for the first time since the Holocaust, and many other meaningful service-learning experiences.
From The Depths is an Israeli-Polish-American NGO which was set up to bridge the past to the future. Founder and Executive Director Jonny Daniels works with his staff on the ground in Eastern Europe to uncover truths about the region's painful past.
