UNMASKED Judeophobia examines the political assault against the Jewish people and their right to self-determination. Jews are facing a threat much greater than a military threat in the battlefield or a traditional terror threat in our urban centers. They are facing the possible uprooting of the very idea that there should be a nation state of the Jewish people.

Nir Landau is a freelance photographer specializing in photojournalism, based in Boston, MA.
After graduation from Masa Acher School for photojournalism in Tel Aviv, Nir took an immediate interest in social documentary and conflict. From 2008 until 2009, he worked as senior photographer for Israel's largest news website, covering the social foundations of urban Tel Aviv. Being on call 24/7 and up to the beat of Israel's vibrant news feed, he found himself frequently in the heart of humanitarian and historical events. |
The workshop "Israel Through the Lens" is a window to Israel through the eye of an observer. Working as a photojournalist, Nir has formed a collection of photographs which tell a political, social, and cultural story about Israel. This collection reflects the essence of Israel's diverse society, its changing landscape, historic sites and traditions. Photojournalism uses images in order to tell a story. We will be analyzing the photos in search of that story.

Israel Arts Night: The Jewish connection to Israel has been a main theme in the arts for thousands of years. This program consists of a presentation which will inspire students to understand and deepen their connection to Israel, as well as inspire them to create new works in music, poetry, visual art, dance, or any other artistic medium.
The participants will then have the opportunity to present their work to each other and to the public at an Israel Arts Night where the artists will show their compositions.
Israeli Popular Music and the Conflict: This presentation looks at the past ten years of Israeli history by examining popular music that has been inspired by the conflict. Music is an excellent window into the various opinions of Israeli society, which will help students understand the nuances of the conflict. Students will come away with a better understanding of the challenges that Israelis face today, as well as a new appreciation for Israeli music.

Sourced with magazine articles, newspaper clippings, and movie clips, this interactive presentation informs students of the varied actualities of gay life in the Middle East -- ranging from open acceptance and burgeoning gay rights movements to the death penalty and torture. | Each Spring, communities around the world remember the 6,000,000 men, women and children murdered by the Nazis and their European accomplices six decades ago. It is important for college students to make space for this dialogue on campus, particularly because the Jewish people and other peoples remain targets of internationally-publicized, genocidal regimes throughout the world. Holocaust studies student and speaker Matt Lebovic is available to come to your campus to hold a discussion about the Holocaust and related issues. He is also able to work with campus groups to bring in a local Holocaust survivor, and set up and fund a book discussion program. | ||||||
