Boston-Haifa Young Leaders of the Boston-Haifa Connection, Young Leaders Division of Combined Jewish Philanthropies, and Boston Israel Group (BIG) came together to sponsor a casual evening with young adults from Boston's sister city of Haifa, Israel.
With both Israeli Memorial Day (Yom HaZikaron) and Israeli Independence Day (Yom Ha'atzmaut) around the corner, this event provided young adults with a wonderful way to show their appreciation for these brave men and women! |

From 10:00am until 7:00pm,
students and faculty of Boston University read non-stop the names of victims of the Holocaust at a podium with a microphone that could be heard on Commonwealth Ave. Immediately following the reading of the names, a candle lighting ceremony was held. Students were able to light yahrzeit (memorial) candles and speak on behalf of family members who perished. |

Over 70 Jewish young adults
gathered together on May 1st to honor the memories of Holocaust survivors and those who perished. Fanning out in Faneuil Hall, members of Boston 3G captured the attention of passersby as they froze in place, on cue, for five minutes, sharing with the Boston community our promise to never forget. |

For an entire week, members and friends of Students for Israel at Northeastern (SFIN) joined with artist Diana Brody to design, create, and paint a piece of art that is to be donated to the Curry Student Center at Northeastern University. The yellow wording spells "Ahava," or "Love" in Hebrew, modeled after the famous Philadelphia sculpture. The blue and pink words in the background spell peace, shalom, and salaam in English, Hebrew, and Arabic. |

Over 170 people attended Boston's
third annual Amazing Israel Race! Students, young adults, and Taglit-Birthright Israel alumni ran around Boston with clues leading them to different places having to do with the State of Israel. Action stations activities included: making hummus, lighting a candle in memory of Jewish heroine Hannah Shenesh, and writing raps about Governor Deval Patrick's recent trip to Israel. |

Gay Israeli artist Ivri Lider spoke to a crowd of 100 people after performing
some of his musical hits. "Lider stressed that 'Israel is a very liberal country' and the leader of gay rights in the Middle East...gay couples who are married abroad are granted a marriage certificate, which gives them the same rights and benefits as a heterosexual married couples. Gay Israelis serve in the military and adopt the biological children of their partners. Lider said that he had no trouble getting an extended visa for his American boyfriend." |

On Sunday evening, October 17th, over 130 students packed the Sheraton Hotel in Boston for a night of fun, trivia, mingling, and education as celebrated educator Neil Lazarus spoke about the current situation in the Middle East.
As alumni of the Taglit-Birthright Israel program, participants were thrilled to meet fellow alumni from other participating schools, including Harvard, Tufts, Brandeis, BU, Bentley, Northeastern, and more! |
